Charlie Chaplin’s Army


The strangely titled ‘Charlie Chaplin’s Army’ is the journal of local soldier William Henry Thompson, who served with the Labour Corps from 1915 to 1919 William Henry called Cottingham, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, hi home and he was one of the fortunate ones who returned there after the Great War was over.
